Out for a walk on the Isle of Harris – forty miles from where we were living at the time.
This is the beginning of the walk to Rhenigidale (Rèinigeadal in Gaelic). At that time the only ways to get to the village were a three mile walk along this path, or by boat. A road was opened (by a different route) in 1990, after we’d left the island.
