I’ve often heard it said that flowers may have 3-fold, 4-fold, 5-fold, 6-fold and 8-fold rotational symmetry, and bigger symmetries that are divisible only by 3 or 5 and powers of 2. Not 7...

Well, here you are. There were hundreds of these, and most of them had 7 petals.

I think it’s some kind of stonecrop. We saw them again and again. They’re tiny – just a few millimetres across.
