Architectural Contrast

St Giles in the Fields church, seen from Flitcroft Street. Central London.

Just round the corner from the Centre Point skyscraper and Tottenham Court Road tube station, at the end of Oxford Street.

No distance from busy shopping streets, this quiet, run-down, dingy back alley – and then, round the corner, the church.

Sorry about the fish-eye effect, but it’s impossible to get the subject undistorted, it’s too wide an angle view.
