Pushing downstream against the incoming tide, pushing a lighter full of what I think is dredgings from the bottom of the Thames, probably destined for dumping at sea. Is this good soil, that could be used on farmland? Or is it heavily contaminated with oils, pesticides and or heavy metals? Has it been tested for these things? Where is it going? Where is it from? I don’t actually know the answers to any of these questions. Maybe it’s going to be used for land reclamation from the sea?
