The southern end of Oban

The southern end of the small town from which the ferry for the isle of Mull departs. The Isle of Kerrera is visible on the right.

This was two 35mm slides, one from the end of one roll of film, the other from the beginning of another – one Kodachrome, one Fujichrome. A film buff could easily tell which is which...

Taken sometime in the mid- to late 1970s with my Russian Zenit B camera. I’d probably still have been using it until I switched to digital if it hadn’t been stolen. It was a really good camera, albeit rather basic. It had excellent lenses, but they were screw fit so rather slow to swap over.
