Torness Nuclear Power Station

I remember sometime in the 1970s, I don’t remember which year, being involved in an occupation of the site for this monstrosity in a futile attempt to get its planned construction cancelled. I was with a lot of University of Bradford Peace Studies students – back in Adam Curle’s time as head of the department, when it really meant what it said on the tin.

The monstrosity is not scheduled for retirement until 2030.
