Heaven is a Place on Earth

Not many people have been to Heaven in their lifetimes; not many people have been to Heaven on a return ticket.

What not many people realize is that Heaven is inhabited by bandits, brigands, and armed insurrectionists. (See War in the Heart of India.)

210° panorama, ten shots. The river is actually more or less straight at this point. It’s rather low for the time of year – see the two rows of bushes on the island in this shot: they’re deeply submerged during floods.

At the height of the monsoon floods (early September), it can be eight or ten feet above this level; and by the end of the summer (mid-June) it’s little more than a trickle.
